New Forum Layout Plan & Discussion

This thread is for discussion on a new layout for The Ethereal Nation currently in the making. :)

Members and Staff!

I will be releasing the newest layout design and color schemes for to the public. This will make the third major coding and altering job this forum has seen since its existence.

Here are some of the most notable changes I wish to accomplish by the end of this month:

Expanded Forum Width

Probably the most notable change everyone will see immediately will be the width of the forum expanding to the new minimal resolution on most of todays computer monitors which is about 1024x768 pixels, compared to 600x800 pixels this forum has been at since day one. What will make the forum wider? This:

Side Tables

Side tables on the left of the board/thread/post listings on every page. This will display various helpful quick links and information just like the current one on the main page plus much more.

Also too, I plan to have the Saybox displayed on every page as well, so you will not have to navigate to the main page every time to see the latest shouts posted, allowing you to be virtually anywhere to see what the talk of the town is amongst your fellow community.

Alternate Graphics

One thing I wish to do is change a few of the old images and button icons around the forum, such as make real original buttons for things like the Home, Calender, Profile, and add a new set of smilies to boot.

Reduction of Available Skins

Due to the massive changes and altercations I plan to do, the most time consuming are definitely the skins. Instead of five, I will reduce the available skins to three. Details on what colors the skins will be are still in development.

This is all the info I have at the moment. I strongly encourage everyone to comment, voice their opinions or ideas on these or other changes coming to us. :)

This project is slated to be completed by November 21st-23rd.
